As of Fall 2020, I am entering my senior year as a chemistry major. During my sophomore year, I shadowed in an organic chemistry lab and studied alternative energy sources in Iceland and Scandinavia. In my junior year, I researched in Dr. Mlsna’s analytical laboratory and discovered my passion for healthy cooking. While my love for chemistry has remained strong, I found a new interest in biology and decided to consider other paths than graduate school. Ultimately, I found that I have an affinity for optometry and plan to pursue a career in the field after graduating MSU. Outside of academics, I am serving my first year as a SMACS officer, my second year as a Study Abroad Ambassador, and work as a student office assistant in the Mechanical Engineering office. When not on campus, I am either shadowing at various eye clinics or at home cooking a plant-based meal.
